If you know me for a while or if you’ve been in the UAE for long time, there’s every chance you heard of Gulf Photo Plus. For many years, it has been a great space for photography, hosting exhibitions, talks, workshops and Slidefest – a great evening of photographers showcasing personal work (I actually participated in the first edition). Mohamed (one of the founders of GPP in its current form) and I met during a workshop with David Nightingale we both took at GPP when it was run by different people.
So it is always a pleasure to participate in something that Gulf Photo Plus is involved in. Together with Fujifilm, they are currently hosting an exhibition titled “Made you look” with photographs from Fujifilm photographers. The opening was during the Al Quoz Arts Fest this weekend, but it runs until the 3rd of April so if you have some time, go have a look.
My photograph selected for the exhibition is this image I made in 2016 at the Al Dhafra Festival during the camel beauty competition and surprisingly, I haven’t posted it until now.
